Brada Developments News Update

Crafty Lion, Church Street

Brada has recently completed Phases one and two of the scheme to improve and redevelop the existing Crafty Lion Public House in Stoke-on-Trent. The works included extensive cleaning and repair of the existing brickwork, stonework, and timber sash windows, and were undertaken in conjunction with the City Council and Historic England. Though not a listed building, it is noted as a building of special local importance, contributing positively to the character and appearance of the conservation area.

As part of the ongoing redevelopment of the site Brada is pleased to announce that it has now secured Phase Three of the scheme. This phase will comprise extensions to the Church Street and Malthouse Buildings along Consort Street to create nineteen residential units and to bring the building back into use. To achieve this, additional storeys will be added along the Consort Street elevation, and to the rear of the main Church Street building.

Works have now commenced and will be completed by 31st October 2023.

Catkins, Baldwins Gate

Working once again with Chartered Architectural practice, Hewitt & Carr, Brada Developments are thrilled to have secured the contract to remodel this residential property in Baldwins Gate.

The scheme involves the removal of the entire floor and wall elements and has been carefully planned so as not to compromise the structure. From this ‘blank canvas’, an entire new layout will be constructed and will include all the final fitting out works.

Woolcool Award Win

Having recently worked with Woolcool in developing and expanding their new manufacturing and office facilities at Tungsten Park in Stone, it was a great honour for Brada’s Directors to be invited to their recent ceremony for ‘The Queen's Award for Enterprise - Sustainable Development’.

This five-year accolade is one of the most coveted and influential in British business and is the second award Woolcool have won, having received a ‘Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation’ in 2018.

The Sustainable Development category is aimed at organisations who are developing products and services that have a good impact upon, and provide major benefits to the environment, society and the economy.

Sustainability is defined as an activity that “ensures a better quality of life for everyone, now and for generations to come”.

Well done to all at Woolcool!
